Born just outside Chicago and raised in southern and northern Indiana, my journey into photography began in 2022—but it didn’t take long for it to become part of who I am. Photography became more than something I do; it became how I preserve the wild, the rural, and the real.

Wildlife photography is where my passion runs deepest. Bears, especially, are one of my favorite subject—powerful, untamed, and symbolic of the landscapes that inspire me. Much of that inspiration is shaped by time spent in Tennessee, a place I return to each year and one that continues to influence both my work and my heart.

Wandering James Photography is equally rooted in rural lifestyle storytelling. I’m drawn to riders and their horses, country couples in their element, rodeo arenas filled with grit and dust, livestock show events, early mornings on the farm, and the quiet strength of simple country living.

Alongside wildlife and rural sessions, I offer family and couple portraits, pet photography, recreational sessions, event coverage, and nature-themed engagement sessions and small nature weddings for couples who prefer an outdoor setting.

My goal is simple: create images that feel grounded, timeless, and true to the life you live.
